The Palestinian authorities believe Russia has the ability to mediate the resolution of conflicts, including the situation in Ukraine and the establishment of peace in the Gaza Strip. This statement was made by the Palestinian Ambassador to Moscow, Abdel Hafiz Nofal, in an interview with TASS.
"We trust Russia. We want Russia’s presence everywhere because it is effective in conflict resolution," said the diplomat. "However, the question now lies with the United States and what they want. This is a crucial issue. If Ukraine stabilizes, it means we could see progress here as well."
In August 2024, during talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated that developments in Palestine remain a priority for Russia. He underscored that Russia has consistently supported peaceful solutions to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, emphasizing that its stance on the matter "remains steadfast."
