Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh urged friendly nations to recognize the Palestinian state and advocate for the two-state solution in the Middle East conflict before it reaches a critical point. He made this appeal during a meeting in Ramallah with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen. The discussions centered on the situation in the conflict zone in the Middle East, as reported by the WAFA news agency.
Shtayyeh appealed to "Denmark and other supportive nations aligned with the principles of peace, truth, and justice to recognize the Palestinian state and advocate for the two-state solution (vision fostering the peaceful coexistence of both Palestinian and Israeli states - TASS) before it's too late."
He stressed "the need of crafting a comprehensive and equitable political strategy to terminate the occupation and establish a state within the 1967 borders encompassing all Palestinian territories in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem."
"The international community must cease applying double standards to Palestine. We are facing a colonial military occupation and a reprehensible apartheid regime. Every action by Israel in the Palestinian territories constitutes a breach of international humanitarian law," emphasized Shtayyeh.
He said, "October 7 doesn't mark the beginning of the conflict with Israel, as the Palestinian people have endured over 75 years of suffering." "Since the start of this year, Israel has been responsible for the deaths of over 390 of our people in the West Bank, with some falling victim to Jewish settlers," concluded the prime minister.
