Palestinian President Stresses No Military Solution for Gaza Strip

26 January

During a meeting with Italian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani in Ramallah, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas asserted that there is no military or forceful solution for the Gaza Strip. This statement was reported by the WAFA news agency.

Abbas strongly rejected the forced displacement of the Palestinian people and emphasized the urgent need to provide humanitarian aid to the people of the Gaza Strip. He called for measures to allow hospitals to alleviate the suffering of those residing in the enclave.

Highlighting the integral nature of the Gaza Strip within the State of Palestine, Abbas declared any attempt by Israeli authorities to separate the Strip from the West Bank, including Jerusalem, or to reoccupy it as unacceptable.

Furthermore, Abbas underscored the importance of Israel ceasing actions that undermine the two-state solution formula.
