Palestinian Red Crescent Receives 80 Truckloads of Humanitarian Aid

07 December 2023

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported the receipt of humanitarian supplies that entered the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing on the border with Egypt.

"Palestinian Red Crescent teams have received 80 truckloads of humanitarian aid through the Rafah crossing. The trucks are loaded with provisions, water, humanitarian assistance, medical supplies, and medicines," reported the organization on its X (formerly Twitter) social media page.

Earlier, it was reported that two gasoline tankers carrying 60 thousand tons of diesel fuel for hospital power generators arrived in the Palestinian enclave. Additionally, in the vicinity of the Rafah checkpoint, 140 trucks carrying humanitarian aid for the population of the sector are awaiting the command to cross the border.

The delivery of aid to the people of Gaza was halted following the disruption of the humanitarian pause. The Egyptian side explained that the passage of trucks carrying humanitarian aid and fuel for Gaza into the Strip "was then suspended due to the resumption of the Israeli military operation."
