Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Wednesday that the October 31 meeting in Sochi with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev was progress toward establishing peace in the South Caucasus.
"Given the great interest, I want to talk about the trilateral meeting held in Sochi. Based on the results of this meeting, can I record that a step has been taken towards the implementation of the peace agenda? I can say: yes, definitely. It was a very important and useful meeting," he said, speaking in the parliament of the republic.
On October 31, a trilateral meeting between the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan and the Armenian prime minister was held in Sochi. The Russian side initiated the meeting. A joint statement was adopted as a result of the talks. Putin said that some things had to be excluded from the preliminary worked out text, the work on the unresolved issues from the trilateral statement will continue in private.
