Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which the sides discussed the escalation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. This was reported on Tuesday night by the press service of the Armenian cabinet of ministers.

"The prime minister gave details about the provocative, aggressive actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces that started at midnight in the direction of Armenia's sovereign territory, which were accompanied by artillery and large-caliber firearms fire.

The prime minister considered the actions of the Azerbaijani side unacceptable and stressed the importance of an adequate response of the international community," the statement says.

The statement of the cabinet of ministers noted that the parties agreed to be in operative contact.
