Patrushev discussed counterterrorism and cybersecurity with his Algerian counterpart

Russian Security Council (SB) Secretary Nikolai Patrushev held talks in Moscow with Director-General of the General Directorate for Documentation and Foreign Security of Algeria, Noureddine Makri, the press service of the Security Council reported on Monday.


It is noted that the sides generally discussed issues of cooperation on the line of special services and law enforcement agencies. "In particular, attention was paid to joint actions in the fight against terrorism, transnational crime, drug and arms trafficking, as well as illegal migration," the statement said.


The Russian Security Service added that it also outlined "plans for further cooperation between the two countries in the field of information security." Among other things, the talks included an exchange of views on regional security issues.


Representatives of a number of ministries and agencies also took part in the meeting. "The parties confirmed the unchanged nature of the relations of strategic partnership between Russia and Algeria," the statement reads.
