18 февраля 2022

Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev is convinced that it is impossible to prevent the formation of ethnic enclaves of migrants in Russia. He stressed that it is necessary to intensify work to identify people professing radical religious views.

"It is necessary to intensify work on timely identification of people professing radical religious views and inclined to commit illegal actions among migrants. We must not allow the formation of ethnic enclaves," he said at a meeting on security in the Urals Federal District.

The secretary of the Security Service of the Russian Federation pointed out that it is important to increase efficiency of work for socio-cultural adaptation and integration of migrants and their children into the Russian society. To do this, he said, it is necessary to increase the level of qualification, to increase the number of teachers in educational organizations working with foreign minors and to pay special attention to the quality of teaching the Russian language to children of foreign citizens.

Patrushev also pointed out that all issues of improvement of the state migration policy and neutralization of threats to national security in the sphere of migration are constantly in the zone of special attention of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. He recalled that last week President Vladimir Putin formed an interdepartmental commission of the Russian Security Council on improving state migration policy. "A meeting of the Security Council on this topic is scheduled. We will use the results of today's discussion to prepare for this meeting," he concluded.
