Patrushev to meet his CIS colleagues in Moscow

Secretaries of CIS Security Councils will attend their annual meeting in Moscow on Thursday. It is planned to discuss interaction on topical issues of national, regional and international security.


Russia will be represented at the event by Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev.


It will be the 10th meeting in this format. The previous one was held in November 2021, and it was also held in Moscow.


The secretaries focused on threats coming from the territory of Afghanistan; cooperation in the sphere of migration; and problems related to the development of biotechnologies. They discussed plans for cooperation in humanitarian response, as well as combating the use of information technology for criminal purposes.


Recently, Patrushev also spoke to his colleagues from the CIS at a meeting of heads of security and intelligence agencies of the Commonwealth. It also considered the situation in Afghanistan, the situation in Ukraine, and countering sanctions and attempts by the West to destabilize the situation in the CIS.
