Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov addressed the media, confirming that Moscow is maintaining continuous communication with Tehran and Islamabad through diplomatic channels in the wake of escalating tensions between the two nations.
"Regular contacts with the mentioned countries are being carried out from the Russian side through diplomatic channels," Peskov informed reporters.
The remarks come in the aftermath of a reported incident on January 16, where the Iranian Armed Forces conducted a strike on two headquarters of the terrorist group Jaysh al-Zolm within Pakistani territory, utilizing a combination of drones and missiles. Subsequently, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry condemned the strike, characterizing it as a violation of the country's air borders with potentially severe consequences.
In response to the Iranian action, Pakistan initiated an anti-terrorist operation, deploying pinpoint drone and missile strikes against extremist hideouts in the Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchistan.
