The Russian Federation is advocating for a prompt restoration of constitutional norms in Niger. The Kremlin holds the view that the involvement of forces from outside the region will not contribute positively to the resolution of the situation. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov conveyed this stance to reporters.
He commented on the appeal of ousted Niger leader Mohamed Bazoum to the United States and the international community to assist in restoring stability in the country. Peskov emphasized that it is unlikely that the intervention of foreign forces would improve the situation. He also noted that Russia is closely monitoring the developments and is concerned about the rising tensions in the region.
The Kremlin's primary objective is to swiftly restore constitutional order while safeguarding human lives.
