Russia will not extend invitations to the leaders of unfriendly countries for the Victory Day parade on May 9, according to Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov. Despite this, the guest list will be impressive and will prominently feature leaders from CIS countries, Peskov told reporters.
“We will not be inviting the heads of unfriendly countries, but the list of invitees will still be quite impressive. First and foremost, it will include leaders of the CIS countries, as an informal CIS summit is planned,” Peskov stated, adding that these will be very busy days.
During his visit to Ulaanbaatar, Russian President Vladimir Putin mentioned the possible participation of the Mongolian Armed Forces in the May 9 parade and confirmed that an invitation has been extended to Mongolia's leader, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, to attend the event.
