Peskov: no meeting of heads of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan on the situation in Karabakh is planned

A trilateral meeting of heads of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan - Vladimir Putin, Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev - is not yet planned to discuss the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday.


"At the moment we are not talking about such a meeting," he said.


Peskov added that "any contacts that can help resolve the situation and bring it out of the phase of direct armed conflict can only be welcomed".


At the same time, he said, Putin's meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who will visit Russia on October 12, is not planned. "Not at the moment," Peskov said. - But he [the minister] has [talks] with his Russian counterpart [Sergey] Lavrov". Besides, according to him, Putin has regular telephone conversations with Pashinyan, "this dialogue will continue".

 

Peskov assured that political efforts are continuing to resolve the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. "Dialogue continues at various levels, including the highest," he said.
