Contacts between Russian President Vladimir Putin and a delegation of six Arab countries expected to visit Moscow next week are not planned, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters Friday.

"No, it's through the foreign ministries," he said when asked whether Putin's contacts with the delegation were planned.

Peskov also said that meetings with the delegation are also not planned through the presidential administration and presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

Earlier on Friday, Hossam Zaki, LAS Assistant Secretary-General, told TASS that the Arab League (LAS) is ready to facilitate a political settlement between Russia and Ukraine and to this end is sending to Moscow a delegation of foreign ministers of six Arab countries, headed by LAS Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit. The Arab contact group delegation will include the foreign ministers of Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Sudan and the United Arab Emirates. According to the secretary-general, talks will begin April 4 in Moscow.
