28 February 2023

Russian President Vladimir Putin's address to the Federal Assembly, delivered on February 21, was perceived as one of the best, and this speech will be analyzed for a long time to come. Dmitry Peskov, the head of state's press secretary, expressed this opinion in an interview with Izvestia published on Tuesday.

"The current presidential address was perceived as one of the best ever delivered by Putin to the Federal Assembly and as a momentous event in the history of our country and probably the entire world," the Kremlin spokesman said.

According to him, the public's expectations from the message increased in importance, and now this speech will last more than one or two days, and it will be analyzed both in Russia and abroad for a long time to come.

Peskov stressed that the world paid attention primarily to Putin's "rather sensational statement" about the suspension of Russia's participation in the Arms Reduction Treaty.
