The dates of the next meetings of the presidents of Russia and Kyrgyzstan, Vladimir Putin and Sooronbay Jeenbekov, will be coordinated through diplomatic channels, the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov stated on Thursday.

"Further [Russian-Kyrgyz] contacts at the highest level will continue, depending on the terms that will be agreed on the diplomatic channels, but the schedule of these contacts in the future is already clear - there will also be multilateral events on [the line] of the EEU and so on, the timing will be determined depending on the development of the epidemiological situation," the Kremlin representative said.

He expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz delegation headed by Jeenbekov for arriving in Moscow for the Victory day parade on June 24. "Unfortunately, during routine testing, several infected people were found in the delegation, and the President of Kyrgyzstan decided not to take part in the parade in order not to endanger the health of the veterans who were present at the parade, as well as other heads of state who were on the same stands. We are very grateful for this decision to the President of Kyrgyzstan and the entire delegation," Peskov said.

The Kremlin spokesperson denied the suggestion that the next meeting between Putin and Jeenbekov was planned for the opening of the monument near Rzhev on June 30.

At the same time, Peskov confirmed that Putin himself was going to participate in the opening of the monument.

"No, nothing like this was planned... There were no such plans. Indeed, a memorial to the Soviet soldier will be opened on June 30 and, indeed, in the Rzhevsky district. The President plans to attend this event. This is a very important monument, a memorial. And, indeed, the memorial significance of this day is very difficult to overestimate, " Peskov said.
