President of Comoros arrives in St. Petersburg for Russia-Africa summit

A delegation led by President of the Union of the Comoros, Chairman of the African Union Azali Assoumani has arrived in St. Petersburg to participate in the Russia-Africa summit. The high-ranking representatives from this African country landed at Pulkovo airport, as reported by TASS correspondent.

 

The Comoros is part of the group of African countries representing the peace mission for the settlement in Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to hold a meeting with African leaders on Ukraine in St. Petersburg on July 28. The working lunch will be attended by heads of state and official delegations from South Africa, the Union of the Comoros, Congo, Egypt, Senegal, Uganda and Zambia. Accompanied by the president of the Comoros, his wife has also arrived in St. Petersburg.

 

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with President Assoumani earlier, during which they reaffirmed their commitment to fostering constructive and partnership dialogues in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres.
