Oumarou Sissoco Embalo, the President of Guinea-Bissau and Chairman of the Economic Community of West African Countries, has arrived in St. Petersburg to attend the Russia-Africa summit. The high-ranking delegation's flight touched down at Pulkovo airport, marking their participation in this significant international event.
Earlier, during a meeting with Cipriano Cassama, the President of the National People's Assembly (Parliament) of Guinea-Bissau, Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin highlighted the importance of seeking new formats of interaction between Russia and Guinea-Bissau. In response, Cassama acknowledged the historical support the Soviet Union provided to Guinea-Bissau during challenging times and recognized Russia's current assistance. The Guinea-Bissau leadership expressed a keen interest in elevating bilateral cooperation to a new level promptly.
