Iraq will not allow the US to use its territory for an attack on Iran, Iraq’s President Barham Salih said in an interview with CNN.
"We do not want our territory to be a staging post for any hostile action against any of our neighbours, including Iran. This is definitely not part of the agreement between the Iraqi government and the United States", - Salih emphasized in particular.
According to Salih, the American troops in Iraq are there only "for the specific exclusive mission of fighting ISIS”, and the duration of their presence will depend on "the needs of the Iraqi government and the analysis of the operational situation."
