President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan on July 14-15, during which an extensive package of documents will be signed. The issue was discussed on Wednesday in Ashgabat at a Turkmen government meeting attended by Berdimuhamedov, the country's state news agency TDH reported.
"Noting the importance of the summit talks, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the deputy prime minister and the foreign minister to ensure a high organizational level of the state visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, during which a solid package of documents is to be signed," the report said.
It was noted that the contractual and legal framework of Turkmenistan - Uzbekistan relations has 246 documents. Between 2007 and 2022, 25 high-level reciprocal visits took place.
On the eve of Serdar Berdimuhamedov's visit, the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan interregional forum was held in Bukhara with the exhibition of the leading enterprises of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The forum resulted in the signing of investment and trade agreements worth $451 million.
