President of Uzbekistan to visit Russia in November

Uzbek president Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Russia in November. This was reported by his press service on Thursday following a telephone conversation with Russian president Vladimir Putin.


"The presidents discussed preparations for an upcoming high-level state visit to the Russian Federation, which will take place next month," the statement said.


According to the press service, the presidents discussed further expansion of multifaceted cooperation between the countries. Putin and Mirziyoyev also exchanged views on topical issues of international politics and regional cooperation, including in the context of developments in Afghanistan.


The Uzbek president also congratulated his Russian colleague on his birthday, noting his personal contribution to the strengthening of bilateral relations. "At the beginning of the conversation, the head of our state cordially congratulated the Russian leader on his birthday, sincerely wishing him good health, well-being and great success, and to the friendly Russian people - peace and further prosperity," the press service reported. Mirziyoyev stressed the Russian president's contribution to strengthening relations of strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries, as well as his historic role in the formation of modern Russia.
