Presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan discussed the fight against coronavirus over the phone

Today, the presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held telephone talks. The main topic of discussion was the measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The conversation, as noted, was held on the initiative of the Kazakh side. The heads of state agreed to increase cooperation in the fight against infection.


"The steps taken in Russia and Kazakhstan to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection were discussed. It was agreed to increase cooperation in the fight against the pandemic, close coordination in solving the problems faced by citizens of both countries in connection with the imposed restrictive measures," the message reads.


49 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in Kazakhstan, and 199 in Russia.


In the world, more than 209 thousand people in 166 countries have been infected with the coronavirus, and more than 8.6 thousand died.
