10 April 2020

Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the United States of America Donald Trump and King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The main topic of discussion was the situation in the oil market.

"The discussion focused on the oil market situation, including in view of the talks at the OPEC+ extraordinary ministerial meeting and the forthcoming videoconference of the G20 energy ministers," the Kremlin message reads.

The parties confirmed their commitment to coordinate actions on stabilising the situation in global oil trade.

Earlier Russia and Saudi Arabia were able to agree on the volume of reducing oil production. The agreement provides for a reduction in production in the next two months by ten million barrels per day.

Moscow and Riyadh, however, will be required to produce no more than 8.8 million barrels per day during this period.
