Presidents of Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan will meet in Sochi

A meeting of the presidents of Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan will take place in Sochi in August of this year. This was announced at the opening ceremony of the conference "Iran and the North Caucasus: history and prospects for cooperation", held in Tehran, said Minister for North Caucasus Affairs Sergey Chebotarev.

 

 


“In August, a meeting at the highest level in Sochi is planned between the presidents of three countries - Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan, in order to translate current issues into practical plane. We hope for this meeting and expect a good effect from it”, - he noted.

 

 


According to the minister, political leaders will discuss the development of the North-South transport corridor, which connects Iran with Russia through Azerbaijan.

 

 


The North-South project is intended to connect Northern Europe with Southeast Asia.
