On December 11, 2024, the offsite meeting of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia – Islamic World" will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The theme of the meeting is "Russia and the Islamic World: Cooperation in an Emerging Multipolar Era."
The primary objective of the event is to discuss the prospects for relations between the Russian Federation and Muslim countries amid the rapidly changing international landscape, with a focus on defining parameters for interaction in the evolving multipolar world. Discussions will build upon the dialogue initiated during the Group’s Kazan session in May 2024, addressing the formation of a just multipolar world order and ensuring sustainable development. Topics will include political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and spiritual cooperation, alongside collaboration in areas such as Islamic banking, security, and the outcomes of the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan.
The meeting will host over 200 representatives from government bodies, political, spiritual, and public figures from 32 countries across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, as well as international organizations.
Speakers and distinguished participants include:

Malaysia also holds historical importance in this context; it was in Putrajaya, during the 10th OIC Summit in 2003, that President Vladimir Putin announced Russia’s intention to engage with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). With the strong backing of Muslim countries, Russia was granted observer status in the OIC in 2005.
