The XII meeting of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World" will be held in Kazan on May 20, 2022. During the period of May 19-21 there will be also XIII International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022" and events dedicated to the 1100th anniversary of the official adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria.
The theme of the meeting of the Group of Strategic Vision: "Russian experience in preserving ethnic and cultural diversity and interethnic and interreligious harmony - the key to strengthening the common civic identity". The purpose of the meeting of the Group of Strategic Vision is to demonstrate to the international community the positive experience of the Russian Federation in preserving the strength and depth of the Russian common civic identity.
During the discussions it is planned to consider the specifics of formation of a common civic identity as the foundation of nation-building of modern states, to contextualize the achievements in the preservation of ethnocultural diversity, as well as to discuss the relevant solutions and proposals in the context of global development trends in Russian and foreign experience in building a dialogue of civilizations.
State and public figures, leaders of spiritual institutions of world religions, representatives of cultural and scientific circles, the media community, intellectuals from thirty countries are invited as participants of the next session of the Group. State speeches are expected during the meetings: Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World"; Marat Khusnullin, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Government, Chairman of the Organization Committee on preparation and holding celebrations dedicated to the 1100th anniversary of official adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria; Ibrahim Taha, Secretary-General of the OIC; Mintimer Shaimiev, State Advisor of the Republic of Tatarstan, first President of the Republic of Tatarstan; Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation; Talgat Hazrat Tadzhuddin, Chairman of the Central Religious Board of Muslims, Supreme Mufti of Russia; Kirill Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan; Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Islamic Council of the Kingdom of Bahrain; Izzat Saad, Director of the Egyptian Council on Foreign Affairs, several leaders of Russian Federation subjects and many other participants.
