Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine of an attempt to undermine a section of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline.

"A number of terrorist attacks and attempts of similar crimes against our country's power and gas transport infrastructure have been committed, including an attempt to undermine one of the sections of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline system. All this is proven by objective data, including the testimony of the detained perpetrators of these terrorist attacks themselves," Putin said Monday at a meeting with the permanent members of the Russian Security Council (SB).

He recalled that Russian representatives are not allowed to investigate the causes of the explosions and the destruction of international gas transportation systems running along the bottom of the Baltic Sea. "But we all know very well the ultimate beneficiary of this crime," said the Russian president.

Overall, according to him, "the Kiev regime with its actions has actually put itself on a par with international terrorist formations, with the most odious groups." "It is simply impossible to leave crimes of this kind unanswered," stressed the head of state.

On September 22, the Russian FSB reported that it had prevented a terrorist attack on a gas pipeline supplying energy to Turkey and Europe. The special service did not specify at the time what exactly an object in question. It is known that the attack was prepared by an agent of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services.
