Putin Affirms Russia's Commitment to Traditional Values

29 February

In his address to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed Russia's role as a stronghold of traditional values, a choice that resonates with people worldwide, including in the West.

He highlighted the contrast between Russia's commitment to life and the actions of other countries that are destroying moral norms and pushing peoples to extinction.

The president recalled the initiation of the Year of the Family at the "Russia" forum-exhibition, underscoring the importance of family values, including love, mutual support, trust, and the continuation of the human race. He noted the deliberate destruction of moral norms and family institutions in some countries, contrasting this with Russia's choice of life.

"Russia has been and remains a stronghold of traditional values on which human civilization is built. Our choice is shared by the majority of people in the world, including millions of citizens of Western countries," Putin concluded.
