Putin and Abbas discussed possible supplies of COVID-19 vaccines and the situation in the Middle East

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. According to the Kremlin press service on Tuesday, "special attention was paid to cooperation in combating the spread of the coronavirus infection, including possible supplies of Russian-made vaccines to Palestine."


"The problems of the Middle East settlement were considered. - the press service added. - "Vladimir Putin confirmed Russia's readiness to continue assisting in achieving a fair and long-term solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, including using the potential of the Quartet of international mediators."


The conversation, which took place at the initiative of the Palestinian side, discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and humanitarian fields. The leaders also exchanged New Year's greetings and agreed on contacts at various levels.
