Putin and Aliyev Express Satisfaction with Results of Russian President's State Visit to Azerbaijan

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of Putin's state visit to Baku on August 18-19. This was reported by the Kremlin press service following a telephone conversation between the two leaders.

 

“The leaders expressed satisfaction with the successful results of the recent state visit of the Russian President to Azerbaijan,” the press service stated.

 

Both presidents emphasized that the consistent implementation of the agreements reached during their talks will contribute to further deepening the alliance and partnership between Russia and Azerbaijan. They also agreed to maintain personal contacts moving forward.

 

Additionally, Russia reiterated its readiness to assist Azerbaijan and Armenia in finalizing a peace treaty. “The Russian side confirmed its readiness to continue providing all possible assistance to Baku and Yerevan in working out appropriate mutually acceptable solutions,” the Kremlin's statement noted.

 

Putin and Aliyev also discussed the situation in Transcaucasia, including preparations for the Azerbaijani-Armenian peace treaty, the delimitation and demarcation of the border, and the unblocking of transportation links between the two countries.
