Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Angela Merkel. The main issues for discussion, as reported by the Kremlin's press service, were issues related to the development of the situation in Syria and Libya, as well as the situation on the world oil market.

"The discussion focused on countering the coronavirus pandemic.  The two leaders stressed the importance of closely coordinated international efforts in this area with the active involvement of the World Health Organisation," the message reads.

In addition, Putin and Merkel gave a positive assessment of the recent prisoner exchange between Kiev and the republics of Donbass.

"They emphasised that consistent implementation of the Minsk Package of Measures and decisions made at the Normandy format summit was necessary."
