Putin and Netanyahu discussed the situation in Syria and the fight against the coronavirus

Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu. According to the Kremlin's press service, the two leaders discussed various aspects of the developments in Syria, as well as measures taken against the coronavirus.


"The leaders informed each other about the measures that Russia and Israel are taking to prevent the spread of the disease. They agreed on regular interaction between the relevant agencies, including in research and development of a vaccine," the message reads.


In addition, Putin and Netanyahu touched upon a number of pressing international issues, including the issue of the Syrian settlement.


"They also touched upon current issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as various aspects of the developments in Syria."


Vladimir Putin and Benjamin Netanyahu exchanged greetings on the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which Israel officially celebrates on May 9. 


"In this context, Benjamin Netanyahu noted the decisive contribution of the Red Army to liberating Europe and defeating Nazism,"  the press-service reports.
