Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a telephone conversation on Friday expressed concern over information about the involvement of militants from the Middle East in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
"Discussions continued on the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. Both sides expressed serious concern over the information about the involvement of illegal armed groups from the Middle East in military operations," the Kremlin press service reports. It is noted that the conversation was initiated by the Armenian side.
"Putin once again stressed the need for the immediate cessation of hostilities and resumption of political and diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict - in line with the statement of the presidents of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries (Russia, France, USA) of October 1, 2020," the Kremlin said.
