Putin and Tokayev discussed the prospects of Sputnik V production in Kazakhstan

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed the fight against the pandemic, as well as the prospects for the production of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus Sputnik V in Kazakhstan. This was reported on Thursday by the Kremlin press service following a telephone conversation between the leaders, which took place at the initiative of the Kazakh side.

 

"Special attention was paid to the fight against coronavirus infection, including the prospects for the use and joint production of the Sputnik V vaccine in Kazakhstan," the Kremlin said in a statement.

 

In addition, "the most important topics of the bilateral agenda with a focus on political, trade and economic and interregional cooperation were discussed in a friendly manner," the press service of the Russian leader informed. "In the context of Kazakhstan's current chairmanship in the Eurasian Economic Union, issues of deepening cooperation within the framework of this integration association were considered," the Kremlin said in a statement.

 

The leaders agreed to maintain further contacts at various levels.
