Russia played a key role in defeating terrorism in Syria. Russian President Vladimir Putin said about this, speaking at the summit of heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states.
"The real results in the fight against international terrorism have been achieved in Syria, largely thanks to the comprehensive assistance of Russia", - Vladimir Putin noted.
According to Russian President, the militants of the terrorist formations were defeated. Nowadays, most of the country’s territory has returned to the control of official government.
“The process of political settlement in Syria is progressing, now it is necessary to ensure the complete elimination of the terrorist centers in Idlib and increase humanitarian aid”, - Russian President emphasized.
