Putin appoints new Russian Ambassador to Uganda

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin appointed Vladlen Semivolos as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Uganda. The presidential decree was published on the official legal information portal on Wednesday.


By another decree, Putin dismissed Alexander Polyakov from the post of Head of the Russian Diplomatic Mission in Uganda and concurrently in the Republic of South Sudan.


Polyakov served as Russian Ambassador to Uganda since 2016.


Vladlen Semivolos was born in 1961, has been in the diplomatic service since 1983, serving at various time as Russian Ambassador to Brunei and as Deputy Director of the Asian and Pacific Cooperation Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
