Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday appointed Deputy Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Timur Zabirov as Russian ambassador to the UAE. The corresponding decree was posted on the official Internet portal of legal information.
" To appoint Timur Fakhetovich Zabirov as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the United Arab Emirates," the decree reads.
On October 1, 2019, Zabirov was given the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, 2nd Class.
