Putin awarded Rahmon the Order for Merit to the Fatherland, III degree

Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded his counterpart from Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon the Russian Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" of the third degree. The head of state's decree was published on Tuesday on the official portal of legal information. 


"For his great personal contribution to strengthening relations of strategic partnership and alliance between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as in ensuring regional stability and security, to award Rahmon Emomali, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", III degree," the text of the decree reads. 


Rahmon turns 70 on October 5. In 2017, he was also awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky for his great personal contribution to strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan.
