The international community must take systemic measures to address the crises in Syria and Libya, to fight terrorism and climate change, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday at a meeting of the discussion club "Valdai".
"You said the conflicts returned when it got easier," he said, answering a question about what had changed in world politics as a result of the pandemic. - But, in fact, they didn't go anywhere. Now many people talk about the second wave, that the situation has returned to the spring of this year. But look at what is happening in Nagorno-Karabakh - this conflict has not gone anywhere".
"It's not even about conflicts," the Russian president continued. - I think that no matter how much the need to fight brings the international community together, we need to take systematic measures to resolve the stagnant problems. It concerns the Middle East, the Syrian crisis, the crisis in Libya, terrorism, and the same environment.
"The pandemic will not help us here," Putin stated.
