Putin called Islamic countries traditional partners of Russia in solving global issues

Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a greeting to the participants and guests of the Kazan Global Youth Summit, taking place August 27-30. The telegram was published Monday on the Kremlin website.


"The states of the Islamic world are our traditional partners in addressing many topical issues of the regional and global agenda, in efforts to build a more just, democratic world order. It is important that young people are more and more actively involved in such constructive, multifaceted interaction," the statement reads.


The president noted that the choosing of Kazan as the youth capital of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) confirms the high level of Russia's relations with this international structure. "Hundreds of delegates from dozens of countries came to Kazan - representatives of various public and student organizations, expert centers and government agencies responsible for youth policy," he said. Putin expressed confidence that the delegates will have a good opportunity to hold meaningful discussions, outline promising projects for joint work, and that the summit will serve to strengthen mutual understanding and trust between the peoples of Russia and Islamic countries. The Russian leader wished the participants and guests of the summit success, prosperity and all the best.


The Kazan Global Youth Summit takes place from August 27 to 30. It is attended by youth and sport ministers of OIC countries, their ambassadors general, consuls general, leaders of youth organizations, representatives of international organizations involved in youth policy, opinion leaders, young entrepreneurs and representatives of the scientific community. The summit is held as part of the international program "Kazan - OIC Youth Capital 2022"
