Putin called relations between Russia and Kazakhstan a strategic alliance

Russia and Kazakhstan have formed a strategic alliance that continues to develop successfully, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said during a meeting the first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.


"As for bilateral relations, at your initiative, we have established a strategic, an absolutely strategic alliance, a strategic partnership between Russia and Kazakhstan. This partnership is making steady progress. We continue our political dialogue, regularly meet with President Tokayev. Our governments are working smoothly", he said.


According to Putin, the volume of trade between the two countries is actively growing.


"Last year it grew by 19.6%  percent and has reached almost $20 billion. Overall these are very good figures and we have good prospects for further progress", Russian leader concluded.
