Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed on Monday in a telephone conversation with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan the readiness of the Russian side to export fertilizers and food if sanctions are lifted, the Kremlin press service reported.

"In light of the problems on the world food market that have arisen due to the short-sighted financial and economic policies of Western states, it has been confirmed that Russia can export substantial amounts of fertilizers and agricultural products if the relevant anti-Russian sanctions are lifted," the statement reads.

Also Putin, in his conversation with Erdogan, noted Russia's readiness to facilitate unimpeded maritime transit of cargo in coordination with Turkey.  "When discussing the situation in Ukraine, the emphasis was placed on issues of ensuring safe navigation in the Black and Azov seas and eliminating the mine threat in their water areas," the message reads. "Vladimir Putin noted the readiness of the Russian side to facilitate unhindered maritime transit of goods in coordination with Turkish partners. This also applies to the export of grain from Ukrainian ports," the Kremlin added.

Also, the presidents of Russia and Turkey discussed Novak's recent visit to Turkey and agreed on other contacts.
