Putin congratulated Aliyev on 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Azerbaijan

Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent congratulations to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the states, noting the fruitful cooperation in trade, economic, scientific, technical, humanitarian and other spheres.


"Over the past decades we have managed to do a lot for the development of Russian-Azerbaijani relations based on good traditions of friendship and mutual respect. Constructive political dialogue and fruitful cooperation in trade, economic, scientific, technical, humanitarian and other spheres are expanding," the telegram published on the Kremlin's website on Monday reads.


The president also recalled that on the basis of trilateral agreements signed last year and the year before, the countries are working together to strengthen stability and security in the Transcaucasia region.


Referring to the declaration on allied cooperation signed between the two countries this year, the president expressed confidence that "taking bilateral relations to a new, qualitatively higher level meets the fundamental interests" of the peoples of Russia and Azerbaijan.
