Putin congratulated Aliyev on his birthday

Russian President Vladimir Putin warmly congratulated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on his birthday during a telephone conversation, the Kremlin press service reported.


"During the phone call, Vladimir Putin extended birthday greetings to Ilham Aliyev," the Kremlin said in a statement.


It is noted that the Russian leader had earlier sent a congratulatory telegram.


Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the personal contribution of the head of the republic to the strengthening of relations of a strategic partnership between Russia and Azerbaijan.


"Your personal contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between our states is no less considerable. I hope that together we will continue to develop mutually beneficial Russian-Azerbaijani ties in every area," the telegram reads.


The Russian leader underlined that Aliyev rightfully enjoys high respect among your compatriots and abroad. He also noted that under his leadership Azerbaijan had achieved impressive success in the economic and social spheres.


In conclusion, Putin wished the Azerbaijani leader good health, prosperity and success in his state activity.


"I would like to take this opportunity to extend my cordial greetings to your family," the president added.


Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev was born on December 24, 1961, in Baku.
