"This holiday, especially revered by Muslims all over the world, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, carries a high spiritual meaning and embodies the desire of people for moral self-improvement, mercy and compassion. I would like to mention with satisfaction that the followers of Islam in our country have a deep respect for the centuries-old historic, religious and cultural traditions and teach these traditions to the youth," the president said in his letter.

The president noted that the life of the Muslim ummah is full of good deeds and endeavors. "Its interaction with state and public organizations is actively developing, and tireless attention is being paid to educational, enlightening, and charitable initiatives," the president noted.

Putin added that during the special military operation, Muslim fighters, together with their comrades-in-arms, defend Russia and show courage and mutual support in battles. The president also stressed the value of the contribution Muslim organizations make to maintain the interethnic and interreligious dialogues and the patriotic education of the younger generation.
