Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev on his birthday, noting his personal contribution to strengthening allied cooperation between the two states.
"Dear Ilham Heydarovich, I warmly congratulate you on your birthday. Under your leadership, friendly Azerbaijan is confidently moving along the path of socio-economic development and strengthening its positions on the international arena. It is difficult to overestimate your personal contribution to the establishment and strengthening of allied cooperation between our states," reads the congratulatory telegram published on the website of the Azerbaijani head of state on Friday.
"I sincerely value our trusting, friendly relations. I am confident that we will continue close joint work on topical issues of the bilateral and regional agenda," the congratulatory message further stresses.
Putin wished Aliyev health, well-being and success.
On December 24, Ilham Aliyev will turn 61 years old.
