Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a congratulatory message to President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on the occasion of his 70th birthday, the press service of the head of the republic reported on Wednesday.
"You enjoy well-deserved respect among compatriots and high prestige abroad as a wise and experienced statesman doing a lot for the development of your country and protection of its interests on the world stage. As a true friend of Russia, you have made a great personal contribution to strengthening the relations of strategic partnership and allied cooperation between our countries, to building mutually beneficial ties within the CSTO, CIS and SCO," the message says.
"I highly appreciate our good, friendly relations. I will be glad to continue our constructive dialogue and work closely together on topical issues on the bilateral, regional and international agenda. I sincerely wish you, esteemed Emomali Sharipovich, good health, well-being and success in your activities for the benefit of the friendly people of Tajikistan," Putin added.
