Putin congratulated Rahmon on Independence Day

Vladimir Putin sent greetings to President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on the occasion of the national holiday, Independence Day, the Kremlin's press service reports.


“Relations between Russia and Tajikistan are developing dynamically in the spirit of alliance and strategic partnership. Bilateral cooperation continues to expand in various fields, and the same is true of cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and other international associations,” the President of Russia noted in his message.


As Putin noted, Tajikistan has achieved "considerable economic and social successes, and plays a constructive role in regional and international affairs".


The Russian leader expressed confidence that the further expansion of the entire range of Russian-Tajikistani ties meets the fundamental interests of the friendly peoples of Russia and Tajikistan, and that this process helps strengthen stability and security in Central Asia.
