Putin Conveys Condolences to Pakistan's Leadership Following Terrorist Attack in Balochistan

29 September 2023

Russian President Vladimir Putin has conveyed his condolences to Pakistan's President Arif Alvi and the country's acting Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar following the terrorist attack that occurred outside a mosque in the city of Mastung in Balochistan province.

"Please accept my sincere condolences regarding the tragic aftermath of the terrorist attack in Balochistan province. The act of taking lives during a religious ceremony serves as another grim testament to the barbaric and inhuman nature of terrorism. It is important that those responsible for this crime face justice and not escape retribution," the message published on the Kremlin website reads.

The explosion took place in close proximity to a mosque where worshipers had congregated to commemorate the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad. According to the latest updates reported by the Dawn newspaper, the death toll from the blast stands at 52, with over 50 individuals sustaining injuries.

Putin reaffirmed Russia's commitment to bolstering anti-terrorism collaboration with their Pakistani counterparts. He also requested that heartfelt condolences be conveyed to the families and loved ones of the victims, along with well-wishes for a swift recovery for all those injured.
