Putin delivered a message to Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Al Nahyan

Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a message to Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the document notes the importance of deepening mutually beneficial and mutually respectful bilateral cooperation, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, who is on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said on Tuesday.


"We attach special importance to deepening already established cooperation, cooperation that is mutually beneficial, mutually respectful, taking into account the national interests of each country. And we also open new areas of mutual interest. Such sentiments permeate the Russian President's message to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, which I have the honor to present on behalf of the Russian President," said the Speaker of the Federation Council when addressing the UAE Federal National Council (a parliamentary-type advisory body).


She congratulated all residents of the country on the national holiday - the UAE formation, noting that over the years the authorities of the country "have managed to create a powerful, successful state", which effectively develops both economically and socially, which has become a respected member of the world community.


In addition, Matviyenko also mentioned a date that will be celebrated on Wednesday - the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the UAE. "The Arabs say that a tree that has deep roots will never wither. So does the friendship between our countries," she said.


The Speaker of the Upper House of the Russian Parliament stressed that for half a century bilateral relations between Russia and the UAE "have acquired the character of a strategic partnership", they are progressively developing in a variety of areas. She underlined that high-level contacts make a major contribution to the dialogue between the countries. "Today, we continue to work in accordance with the tasks and agreements that were reached at the highest level and documented in 2019 during the state visit of the Russian president [to the UAE]," the senator added.


A Federation Council delegation led by Matviyenko is on an official visit to the UAE from December 6 to 8. It coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the UAE.
